Class Dismissed!
The place to go for research help AFTER class.Where would I be able to go on the SJC Library website to find videos that are available?
There is a really easy way to look up videos. You go to our home page at http://www.sanjuancollege.edu/lib and choose “Catalog.” Under the search box is an option for Quick Limits. There you can select “Video or DVD” (you have to scroll down, it’s not at the top of the list). This will limit your search to only videos in our library when you do a Keyword type of search.
Where can I find online biographical information for authors?
Our Gale Literary Databases include the Dictionary of Literary Biography. You can access them from our SJC Library webpage through the Databases by Subject link (select “Literature”) or the Databases by Title link (select “Gale Literary Databases”).

TODAY WHAT I THOUGHT ABOUT THE LIBRARY TOUR WAS GREAT! i never knew anything about the library until now. Now, i know what to do and not to do while i make a next visit. — Makayla
How do I find databases specific to my field?
On the SJC Library webpage http://www.sanjuancollege.edu/lib
there is a link to “Databases by Subject.” Find the Subject which is most closely related to your field.
Some databases cover many fields of study in one database. For example, the ASTA (Applied Sciences and Technology Abstracts) database includes information on computer technology, engineering, energy-related disciplines, mathematics, physics, and chemistry.

Wikipedia as a source?
Question: Is Wikipedia a good source to use?
Answer: Wikipedia is an online encyclopedia in which the articles are written by the general public. While information may be added to Wikipedia by experts, it is difficult to really know whether the contributor is actually an expert in the field. Use with caution. Verify information in at least one other source. Wikipedia is not generally acceptable as a cited source in a college-level research paper.
